Our Specialist Offerings
Mandarin
Mandarin is taught at Goodwood Primary School to reception – year 6 students. The Mandarin program incorporates both language and culture into lessons throughout the year.
Physical Education
Students from Reception to Year 6 have a weekly Physical Education (PE) lesson with our specialist PE teacher.
Year 5/6 students have the opportunity to participate in School Sport SA carnivals throughout the year for sports such as netball, soccer, and basketball.
Performing Arts
Students in reception to year seven receive one specialist Performing Arts lesson a week. The quality of skills developed in this area is evident throughout the year at assembly performances and our end of year concert experience.
Science
Students at Goodwood Primary School attend weekly Science lessons that is focused on developing students’ understanding of scientific concepts and processes. It encourages inquiry-based learning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Students explore topics such as Living Systems, Matter and Materials, Forces and Energy, and Earth and Space Systems, fostering curiosity and a lifelong interest in science.
