Our Library is a welcoming space that supports the whole school community. It plays an important role in encouraging a love of reading, supporting classroom learning, and helping students develop their information and study skills.

We offer a wide range of resources for students to enjoy, including picture books, fiction, novels and non-fiction texts.

The Library also provides digital technologies, such as iPad sets and laptops, to support learning in the classroom.

Each week, classes visit the Library for Browse and Borrow sessions, where students can explore the collection, discover new books, and borrow items to enjoy at home.

Opening Hours

The Library is open Monday to Friday from 8:40 am to 3:15 pm and is also available to students during recess and lunch times.

Students and families are welcome to visit the Library to browse our collection, borrow books, and enjoy some of our library games.

Borrowing
Books can be borrowed for two weeks. If students would like to keep a book for longer, they are welcome to renew or borrow it again to avoid overdue notices.
Loan Limits

Students may borrow the following number of books:

  • Reception – 2 books
  • Years 1–2 – 3 books
  • Years 3–4 – 5 books
  • Years 5–6 – 8 books
Overdue Notices

Students are asked to return overdue books before borrowing again.

If a book has been misplaced, a note may be sent home asking families to help look for it. If the book cannot be found, please let the Library staff know so we can make arrangements for the student to continue borrowing while it is being located.

Our aim is to support students to enjoy reading while also developing independence and responsibility with their library borrowing. Often, misplaced books are returned or simply turn up later

Lost and Damaged Books
If a library book is lost or damaged, please contact the Library. We ask that families do not repair books at home. Damaged books can be returned with a note.

Families may choose to replace the book or make a donation towards its repair or replacement. Letting us know when a book is lost or damaged also helps us keep our library records up to date

What can parents do to help?
Parents and caregivers can support their child by:

  • providing a library bag to protect books
  • keeping books in a safe place at home
  • sharing library books together at home
  • monitoring what their child is reading
  • volunteering in the Resource Centre — please contact Michelle Plenty if you can help
  • visiting local community libraries to further encourage reading
