Organisation

Session Times
Children attend two full days of preschool per week from 8:30 AM to 3:15 PM and one half day every second Friday morning from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM. Group one children attend Mondays, Wednesdays and odd weeks on a Friday mornings (ie: weeks 1,3,5,7,9). Group 2 children attend Tuesdays and Thursdays and every even week Friday morning (ie: week 2,4,6,8). The pre-entry program is negotiated each term depending on availability of spaces.

Snacks and Drinks - Medical Alert - the Preschool is a Nut Aware Zone
We seek parents' support in encouraging the children to eat fruit at "snack time" and to drink water whenever they are thirsty. If your child doesn't like apple, pear or banana, they might enjoy melon, berries, vegetables, a boiled egg or a savoury sandwich. Self-serve water is always available from the water dispenser. If your child wants his/her own drink bottle, allow water only. Do not send any items containing nuts or traces of nuts. Please read the ingredient list on pre-packaged food items. For example, muesli-bars often contain nuts and have a very high sugar content so are not allowed.

Bag Hooks and Pocket Chart
The children hang their bags and other belongings on the hooks outside. Newsletters and notices to parents are placed in each child's "pocket" inside the door. Please check them regularly.

Sun Safe
All children must wear a hat that shades their face, ears and neck while playing outside from the beginning of September until the end of April and when the UV Level is 3 and above at other times.

Clothing
Please dress your child in comfortable, easily managed clothing appropriate for preschool activities such as: climbing, running, painting and sand play. Also, children need to be able to go to the toilet independently. In the interest of your child's safety, thongs are not acceptable footwear as they are dangerous on the climbing equipment. Encourage your child to practise putting on socks and shoes by themselves.

Governing Council
The Governing Council is the parent decision-making body in the school. The Preschool has a representative on the Council. If you have any school/preschool issues you would like to raise through Governing Council please contact our current representative Amanda Devonish amanda.devonish@gmail.com.
